Below are pictures of the custom horn that has just arrived in the States. More pics of this horn at different angles will follow, and it will also appear on the custom page of our website shortly Regards Leigh PS many thanks to Cheechoo for putting this up on his site until Gary returns from some very serious drinking in Berlin ;D

Dat's one wild looking horn, Leigh. Have you got a name for it yet? May I humbly suggest "pigtail"?

Sheeeeesshhhh, Ed! "Pigtail"? Since Leigh was so kind to provide this Eclipse "Showstopper", for the Northern Brass Trumpetfest, I would like to have an opportunity to provide a proper name for such a fine instrument. Honestly, the pictures do not do the horn justice... it is absolutely stunning, in person! USA Eclipse Artist - Trent Austin performed a "solo" called "Joy Spring" by Clifford Brown.[/i] I think that "Joy Spring"[/i] should be the name of the trumpet, because the bracing actually looks like springs. (And, because it sure didn't sound like some squealin' pig, when Trent was playin'!) ;D Sound good to you, Leigh? Trent? Noel? (I know that you had a blow on "Joy Spring"[/i] before she left the UK. ) Cheers! Bruce

Ha! Joy Spring is an excellent name for quite possibly the most centered horn I've ever played. This horn is amazing Leigh! My hat goes off to you! I can't wait to record new Eclipse clips (some are going to be recorded tomorrow) on my L red... I had a blast at the festival and the Eclipse horns stole the show! Best, Trent

That's funny. We had a consultant at the factory a while ago doing some work on Quality Assurance. His assistant has the name "Spring Savage"! A very attractive young miss she is too!

d**n Noel,
You're hot wired. But Vernal needs to be reserved for the Equinox,
Vernal Equinox
just gotta be! The rest are great possibilities. Keep em coming, spring forth.
Now, how about something really unique for a unique horn:
Macracanthorhynchus hirudinaceus
Ha!

Can you open wine bottles with that thing? Looks like there's a built in cork-screw.

Now, Noel... you get to play test every ferrreeeaaakin' Eclipse that there is! Time to give someone else a chance. "Rite Of Spring" was an obvious choice... but, Trent did play "Joy Spring" at the Trumpetfest. Orchestral vs. Jazz hhmmmmm.... it slots unbelievably well... could go Orchestral. Romey... that little doo-dad on the third-valve bottom cap is for picking out belly-button lint. If you wanted a corkscrew added, I'm sure that Leigh could do that for you! ;D Skip... "Vern".... yeah, that crossed my mind. Streaked acrossed it. The "Vernal Equinox" would be a spring-green colour. Leigh can do that for you. It'll be a nice match to that new Large Red, in scratch gold that's in process for you. "Joy Spring" is the obvious choice, Leigh! Bruce
