Patrick,
Well, I believe in "forgive your brother 70 times 7 times". I don't always practice it, but I try and hope that people I have offended try as well.
Who knows, sometimes people just need a change of scenery to turn a leaf.

Forgiving your brother is definitely something that we should all do. Let's hope that in the event that some of those folks do show up over here, let's all try to extend them a courtesy that they didn't extend to us, and to try and let bygones be bygones.
All I know is that right now, posting here on this forum is like a breath of fresh air. Things were getting pretty bogged down "over there" and I had all but stopped posting and really was only lurking from time to time.
So, all that being said, lets talk about horns!!!!! ;D

I'm all for looking forward not backward and for turning a new page in our trumpet sharing forum.
Peace to all,

I understand the concerns about trying to avoid having the childish threads, etc. My hope is that they simply get moved to a forum designed to accomodate them rather than have every other post edited. We just have to learn to stay out of those forums if we do not wish to be exposed to them. Obviously, some folks think they are entertaining. I prefer that solution to the one where a moderator re-words my posts to clarify my meaning without offending. This site will not be immune to the problems, but the MASTER seems energetic rather than tired; so hopefully overall fairness will rule!

gzent makes some nice points. I'm sure many of you would be surprised to know that I contacted Mr. Turner about Moderating the Wild Thing forum. I want to get the most knowledgeable people I can to Moderate this site. I still have many horn forums open and if you would like to nominate someone or have a heads up on someone who would do a great job let me know via email or PM Anyone is welcome at the "Home of the Master!" I would accept Mr. Raymond here with open arms. What I will not allow here is Hypocrisy and Abuse of Power. The dedicated horn forums are intended to be a place where people can learn about the instruments and talk about them with out any attacks or bashing. The Moderators will not allow it. If you want to attack or bash a horn great. We welcome that in the Steel Cage match! Friends we have over 100 registered membershere in less than 5 days. Exciting times! TM Hi! Well, I haven't always agreed with everyone here, but I don't think that matters. What is important to me is that we have a mature forum to exchange our experiences about playing the trumpet and trumpets themselves and that the forum should be kept free from users who constantly start pointless arguments about who said what about whom or their horn. In other words, we all know that we sometimes say things we shouldn't or don't really mean. Lets not have a site where people go back and search through somebody's threads for the sole purpose of pointing out the unfortunate things that a person may have said; and then compiling it to discredit that person. That to me is not fair and just plain destructive. I would also prefer that we check our bags at the door. If Tom Turner, Charles Raymond, or anyone else wants to participate then I say why not? If TM (BTW, what is you first name?) is big enough to overlook some of the harsh things I have said and invite me to join, then certainly we can make room for others. Pardon the rambling, Greg

Best wishes to Leigh MacKinney...and Dave Bacon. I'm glad to see that both of you are contributing.
There are a lot of "post crazy" horn-tooters in the world. Another forum (this one) will fill a need.
All the best.

Hi,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I've been lurking for a few days and find the surroundings here VERY pleasant indeed . . . and I'm gonna try make it even more pleasant!
I'm really looking forward to talking about trumpet-related things in a nice environment, and I've had lots of e-mails from a wide variety of folks encouraging me to join and contribute.
Thanks everyone for making up my mind and feeling welcome here!
I'm looking forward to making a very positive contribution here, and making new friendships too!
Sincerely,
Tom Turner
