If you've not listened to lot's of George Graham then you owe it to yourself to go get all the Bob Florence Big Band recordings you can and start enjoying yourself. George was the Lead Player that was responsible for the unique style and sound of the Limited Edition. Of course, the great composing of Bob Florence had much to do with it as well, but it was George that established the sound of the band and certainly the SWING the band played with. His effortless approach to Lead Playing is unmatched. His high register was so easy, you'd be fooled by what notes he's playing. My favorite George note is the last note on "Peanut Face" from his big band solo album. You listen and you say, hey nice Double C George......you check it out again and...it's a Double E! Easy as a high C. He told me it was a "ticked off" Double E, as something had happened that ticked him off and he put it through his horn!
Thanks George, for all the great trumpet playing you've given us.
