Has anyone had an opportunity to check this trumpet out? Interesting price range and in direct competition with another Kanstul made horn (not sold under the Kanstul label) under a $1000......... hmmmm, wonder who that could be? www.kanstulmusic.com/~jkmusic/trumpetdeal.htm

That's Jack's student line trumpet. We talked about it last summer.

Didn't the Kanstul student line get pretty good reviews during the Atlanta Zues Tour? They both seemed to stack up pretty favorably to the other horns for a lot more money.
Let's not forget that one of the most coveted collectables right now is the Olds Ambassador. It was nothing more than a student line horn as well.

It blows great! Jack likes to have guys play it first (you blow all your high stuff through it), then he tells you it's the student line ax. Good trumpet! Then he gives you one of the step up horns!
Fun stuff.

Let's not make the mistake of saying that the horn has a purchase price of $800! After all, it looks like a finance deal to me. In those things, the guy putting up the money (JK) has to: a) cover his purchase price: b) ensure that there is enough to cover the interest that he *might have made* on his money during that 20 month period: c) ensure that it is INsured (just in case the renter doesn't have adequate home-owner's insurance).
Now then, if this is a student model horn (I think it was the 609 that got the great reviews in Atlanta) what's it really worth "retail-wise"? The horn in Atlanta sold for $400 to $500? something like that? But it was mentioned at the time that it was a "clearance price" and so any loss could easily have been written off as an 'advertising charge'. (Given the reviews it got and the mileage that Kanstul got out of it...not a bad deal for them.) "Real retail price" maybe $600? Two year's of "loan" on that money? Insurance? Maybe $40 a month doesn't sound all that bad after all; ESPECIALLY for a horn that plays like a "pro" model! Heck, that's even less expensive than a Zeus!

Yes,
That's the Kanstul 610 trumpet, just like the silver 610 that sold to a guy for $485 (IN SILVER EVEN!!!) at the Atlanta horn test.
I'm a sucker for a really great value and that 610 is certainly that! I've been recommending them to my band director friends for their students and I consider it the new "Ambassador" of the 21st century.
The 610 is probably a variation of the 609 that Kanstul made for Boosey (including the F. Besson) up until losing that big contract a year or so ago.
Sincerely,
Tom Turner

It is everything I said it is as are all Kanstul's. Read the bell. It say's Custom Built by.....and that is the truth. There in no such thing as a student level Kanstul. My father's entry level product plays better than most manufactures best efforts. Read the FAQ on my website at kanstulmusic.com under the subject of student vs. pro level. THIS IS THE BEST DEAL GOING ON THE NET!!! Where can you get a horn of this quality for just a $40.00 starting investment. You can't. When you get it you will go from this to this ;D and you will want to me, but please don't. Just say "Thanks Jack" for giving me such a great horn deal. After all when you've played a Kanstul you can't play anything else! Jack Kanstul P.S. Did I forget to mention it comes with my exclusive Money Back Guarantee and Lifetime Warranty? Now that's service that only having the name can bring to the table.
