what would be a good size laskey picc mpc?
I have a stomvi picc and have been going back and forth between a 7c(bach)for high stuff/long stuff and a 5( and old enlish besson piece) for anything else ...I like the sound of the 5 but am not real happy with either one ....
any ideas on what i could try guys?

I've been using the Laskey PIC mouthpiece and it works great! I normally used a Bach 7D and a 7E occasionally. Since I've been using Scott's mouthpieces on my other horns, I decided to give it a go....and I'm very happy with the results. The PIC comes in either cornet or trumpet shank.
Scott compares the PIC to a 7E or a Schilke 11A.
hope this helps

Bartok,
thanks for the reply...
I feel like my lips arent really free to vibrate with the 7 size rim..( or the 5 as well for that matter)..I normaly play a laskey75c on bflat and C, doyou think I should just get somethink around the 75c size?
or do you have any other ideas?
since i dont live close to a place that stocks laskey mpcs i will have to order one to try, I am hoping to get it right the first time...
thanks again for the advice...

Sounds like I need to try the PIC. I like to use a 7E. What is different about the laskey piece. What do you like about it

Hey TM,
Congrats on the nice site!!!
I just happen to feel like the PIC rim is much more pleasant than the Bach 7E. The cup feels slightly larger....but I don't think it really is. But, the rim just fits my chops really well. I actually prefered the 7D over the 7E because of the rim...but now, the PIC wins hands down. I think it gives a bit more cushion compared to the 7E....and intonation is great.
I use the Laskey 70 and 75 series for my regular playing.

I have to second the Laskey PIC mouthpiece. It plays much better than a 7E for me as well. I bottom out on a 7E, not on the PIC. I also like the PIC rim better, though I play Laskeys on the big horns too.
I also find a certain security and stability with the PIC that I don't find with a Bach. YMMV.
