Just curious!
I have read what has been stated on the TH...just wondering if anyone else has any personal experience with these.

Yes, I am playing on the Fokus AA7 and P7! I like them a great deal.
I had been on a mpc. safari for quite a while. I got interested in the Fokus after reading several posts by Lowell Stephenson. I called Lowell and he spent over an hour on the phone with me explaining his design concepts and theories.
I took the "drill it out" approach. And kept going bigger and bigger in diameter to broaden my sound. My sound was becoming very sluggish and un-focussed.
What Lowell explained to me is, depending on your horn set up and concept of sound, you can determine several things.
There is a direct relationship between the size throat, backbore length and width and the cup depth and diameter. I was not maximizing all those for my style of playing and ideal sound concept.
I tried the Artist model, but found that to shallow. So, I use the All Around for any lead, or studio type work, and I use the Principal when I want to darken my tone and create a bigger fatter sound. The quality is exceptional. I don't know if it is a top secret, but the Fokus is made by Terry Warburton.
I would encourage anyone to give them a test ride. I understand now you can order from Woodwind & Brasswind. With their mpc. trial deal, you can't lose. Contact Lowell and he will be very gracious and helpful.
Best Wishes!
