THarold,
If you want to see the level of maturity you get with a group of teenagers posting all the time, I'd suggest you spend some time on TPO (TrumpetPlayersOnline). After being there for a couple of weeks and you enjoy it, then I'd say you found a home there. I don't have anything against kids but I'd rather talk trumpets, sports and what ever else with adults, not kiddies. (even the majority of high school kids) There are exceptions but you have to wade through their popping hormones to find the decent ones. Its easier to screen them out up front rather than try to shut the door after you've let them in.
Just my opinion........ nothing more

Harold,
IMO, Art Linkletter was addressing kids not teenagers who would not be interested in trumpet forums with adults anyway. Your following quote, “out of the mouth of babes” for sure does not deal with adult trumpet forums and I rather doubt that there would be very much youth wanting to participate in trumpet forums. I hear what you are saying however, and I agree that we should not be closed minded to others opinions no matter how young nor how old they may be.
I did not say to exclude the youth but I can very well see that they will end up in the Steel Cage for their general attitude at that age is that they want everything their way and the whole world should abide by their whimsical feelings and demands RIGHT NOW.
In fact, bring on the youth!! They should learn sooner or later what the real world is like even via this trumpet forum.

Harold,
Perhaps 'kids' wasn't the best choice of words. Juvenile delinquents may be more accurate. Many people call them trolls. But I have a hard time accepting that adults were actaully causing most of the trouble. So I was using 'kids' in a pejorative sense to denote immaturity and disruptiveness, rather than simply an age thing.

OK, I see what your saying now. Trolls are a drag. Trolls don't have to be juveniles either, chronologically speaking you know. Maybe we ought to be talking about making this site troll-proof.

Harold It seems that junvenile Trolls are going to be with us as they are in every government/private organization. Just like a junvenile who can't controll the burning desire of what's hanging between his legs, even the former President of the USA seemed to have been the biggest "troll" yet. Conscience: Liad, how is it that you have changed this thread from Comments / Suggestions on how to make this forum "kid" prood to a highly political statement about a former president of the US? What I am trying to say is that even if the White House can not sift out trolls, neither will any trumpet forum; so, we are going to have to live with it and adjust the best we can. Liad Bar-EL
