Who else likes to listen to some early Wynton. He is a trumpet monster all the way around but back then he just sounded scary on that Bach. I know some people dont care for his Jazz. Fine. If you are one of those people do you prefer the earlier Wynton over the more recent stuff. Im talking Blakey years here.

Early Wynton is amazing. His tone is so large and full on those Bach trumpets. Another great early example of Wynton would be Hot House Flowers, IMHO.

Early Wynton is amazing. I enjoy the videos with Blakey. He had that freaky thing about his playing back then. Some friends and I used to call him the scientist.

Probably my favorite Wynton album has got to be "Black Codes" He sounds awsome on that. My favorite wynton. Anyone else know or like this album?

I love that album. My favorite Wynton is "Live at Blues Alley" from the same period.
