Andy,
At one time you told me that you have my horn parts and that now you have to assemble them and adjust them to make it play.
If you and some other horn maker were given the exact same horn parts to assemble, would both horns play and sound the same? If not why?
Is there a certain art or technique of assembling horns that give that horn a particular sound from its particular maker?
If this is true, what are those techniques? (kidding) ;D
Thanks,

Actually, not such a daft question as it first seems.
I will refer to 'assemblers', as a maker would 'make' at least some of the vital parts themselves.
So, 10 trumpet 'assemblers' all with the same set of parts. Would they all play alike? Mmm...
I would guess not. Why? It think it would be hard to find 10 trumpet assemblers with the same degrees of care, accuracy, experience, dilligence, speed, resorcefulness and simple common sense, not to mention a passion or willingness to do a good job.
Would make an interesting experiment though!!
Andy.
