Please feel free to contact me with ideas or suggestions! A CALL FOR A LOGO!!!!! I am looking for a logo for this site. gzent was nice enough to submit a great idea to me. I would like to see what people can come up with. If you are interested please submit your logo to trptmaster@hotmail.com. maybe on the forums for the different horn vendors you could have the link to their site on the top heading area?

That sounds like a great idea. Once I get the new and improved site up and running I will work on that

I don't want to alway be comparing this forum to that of the Trumpet Herald, but the one aspect that I have always liked about the Trumpet Herald is the active topics list. Almost all of the posting that I have done over there originated from the active topics list. If there is a way that it automatically shows the most active 10 threads or so, that would be really cool.
Other than that, things are looking pretty good in my opinion. There is a wealth of dedicated forums with sensible moderators, and there is quite a bit more functionality here than on many other message boards that I visit.
For me, the best thing is the active topics list because it's the easiest way to tell at a glance just what is being talked about and how much it is being talked about.

Patrick, there are a couple of things you could look at. At the bottom of the main page there is a "link" that will bring up the last 10 posts made. You can also scan down the right hand side of the main page where it will show you which topics have had entries Today.
Other than that I know what you mean about the possiblity of using a "flag" or something for any topics which have had posts that you haven't read yet. But "hey", this forum has features that some "other" forums don't have....like a real time chat feature (how come so few of you folks ever check that out? Thevor and I had a real good "chinwag" last night in there. Just open a second browser window and wander on in; pull up a chair, open a beer and hang out until someone comes along!) and individual topics where manufacturers can announce, respond, make outrageous statements, or whatever else they want!

Tootsall is right, it was a good time in the chat room. it made it even more enjoyable having a second browser open to the "brand X" site. Watching real time fodder made the whole chat thing exceptionally entertaining.
NE was, as usual on his "A game" with his post.
Romey was classic. He was like the kid in the neighborhood that went up to the bees hive and wiggle the stick in it and ran. Once the hive calmed down, Romey would pelt it with a few rocks too.
Don't get me wrong. I'd hate to see the melt down of "brand X" trumpet forum. Unfortunately, now that the trolls are gone, it seems like the SM's are a bigger problem. "Brand X" might see the plug pulled if the ship doesn't right itself soon. In the mean time, lurking has a high degree of entertainment value.
My suggestion to them, take a deep breath.............. and chill.

Hello Friends, Thanks for the suggestions. The new homepage will include an active forum display so you can tell at a quick glance what has been going on. The rest is a secret.
Buckle Up Amigos
The new site should be very exciting but it is going to take a bit more time before it is ready. Rome wasn't built in a day ;D
